29 weeks and counting...

I feel extra tired this week. I wish I had enough leave saved up to take the next 2 and a half months off and sleep. I started getting Braxton Hicks contractions last night and they were so annoying. They have continued into this morning. I can feel him way up high in my tummy today. And last night he was in my rib cage. Everytime Jason would talk I felt a big kick in my ribs. OUCH! So I told Jason that he had to start texting me what he wanted to say. Just kidding. The kid loves his Daddy already. I'm glad we are getting away this weekend because in another few weeks I don't think I'll be up for much traveling. I think I'm in my nesting stage because it really bothers me when things at home aren't put in there place or the kitchen is dirty or I see stuff on the carpet. I guess you could say I have devleoped a case of OCD. I feel like B day is so far away but, in fact, it is just around the corner. It is amazing to think that we will be parents in just a few weeks time.

Getting out of town

Jason and I decided we need some "us" time this weekend. After working a 40 hour week and doing everything that needs to be done around the house on the weekends it doesn't leave much time for the two of us. So we decided we are going to pack a duffel bag tomorrow night and hit the road and go to Ocean City. We will find the cheapest hotel once we get there. (I actually called ahead, let's face it spontaneous is romantic but unreliable). We will go putt putting, visit the Ripley's Believe it or Not museum and just walk the board walk. I can't wait. I just hope it doesnt rain us out, in which case we will sit in our room and not even get out of bed...which doesn't sound half bad to me. We will just send out for food and rent movies for 2 days. Ahhh, either way it's going to be nice. We will take lots of pictures!
**Jaxon Update** It's definitely a boy! He is moving around like crazy! Jason and I felt his foot poking out of the top of my belly on Monday. I feel like a jungle gym, he is just tearing it up in there. Two and a half months 'til we can actually see our little boy! We are trying to start resting now!

He has his hands in front of him but you can see that button nose. I think it's dad's??
Now you can see his lips. Ahhh, I can stare at these all day!

The best day of our lives. Soulmates!
My huge belly at 24 weeks.

24 weeks

Bella and my belly. She is very protective!
Blocking us from seeing his face. But you can see his little ear and arm.

Picking his nose. Such a boy already.

Sleeping with his hands on the side of his head.

Rubbing his sleepy eyes.

Welcome to the lives of Shannon, Jason and soon to be baby Jaxon!!

Welcome family and friends! Since we have so many loved ones that we don't see nearly as much as we would like to and our lives get so busy that keeping in touch is sometimes difficult; Jason and I thought this would be perfect to keep everyone updated. Well, by now, you all know that we are expecting our first child in July. We just entered the third trimester yesterday. What a milestone, it feels like it has taken forever to get to this point!! (and I hear it only takes longer after this) That means our baby is going to be here in about 12 weeks. YIKES! It seems like there is so much to do. It's very exciting! We have the crib and dresser/changer in the nursery, thanks to Jason's WONDERFUL parents. It is such a relief to have the biggest items taken care of. And of course we know that the baby is not going to care about the material things just as long as he is warm, fed and loved (and he will be!). It is the most amazing experience ever. It is amazing to feel him move. I feel him all day while I am sitting at my desk. I think he get's bored, haha. We also know that he is a Daddy's boy already. Jason and I were laying down having a conversation last night before bedtime and Jason had his hand on my tummy and everytime he would talk Jaxon would move like crazy and when he would stop, so would the baby. It was hilarious! We love it!! After MUCH deliberation we finally agreed on a name for our little boy. Jaxon Tucker. We decided on the name Jaxon about 8 weeks into the pregnancy and we were going to use Jason's middle name, Matthew. But Jason brought up the name Tucker, who was a fellow Marine that fought alongside him in Iraq. He was killed in action. I am honored to name my son after an American hero just like his Daddy. We have so many sonogram photos and pictures of the house and especially the nursery that we will put up soon. Stay tuned...
